Friends of Larimer: the Chalk-Up! | 2007
A project to foster a spirit of hope and a culture of action — the social preconditions for change — by creating events (ephemera) that build awareness through the disruption of “life as usual” in Larimer, a neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Learn more about the neighborhood or view these project materials: a poster summarising my early research findings; this slide presentation and a more detailed description of the project; and this essay about how both research and implementation phases of the project were informed by my reading of Situationist theory and participatory design methods. I also made a related presentation about participation in the context of design for civic engagement.
